The North East Bulls had a strong start to this year’s league competition and had high hopes that their form could continue, or even improve, with their sights set on the GBWR Division One league title.
Last time around the Bulls went unbeaten on the first day of the league weekend and then their dominance continued to earn them a game in the final where they met a sturdy West Coast Burn team. Burn proved too strong for the Bulls and took the win after an exciting game. The Bulls ran out of steam and returned home to regroup and train for the next competition due to be held a few weeks later in February. See the results from the January league weekend here, and the current league standings here.
Fast forward four months and the division one league competition has moved no further forward, with both scheduled competition dates being cancelled due to Stoke Mandeville’s inability to dry a flooded floor caused by a decaying roof which had been ignored for years (useless sods).
A new venue sourced and the league can recommence, kind of, with this being the final competition date this season we see our league fixtures cut short due to a full summer calendar, meaning this weekend is our only chance to take the league title… here comes the next spanner. Due to player unavailability (selfish sods), the Bulls have had to merge with south-west outfit the Hawks to make a scratch team, thus meaning our games will have to be nil and voided to keep the opposing teams happy (moaning sods).
Despite the afore mentioned useless, selfish and moaning sods, the team are very much looking forward to playing their final games of the season, and ultimately see this as a warm up for their plot to dominate the Premiership following the conclusion of this competition. Watch this space for an exciting Premiership team announcement including a special international guest which we guarantee will leave the opposition moo-ing their pants.
